Medal 'NATO'

The NATO Medal (large model) is an international military decoration awarded by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to military personnel and eligible civilians who have taken part in NATO-led operations or missions.

The decoration is a round bronze medal. On the obverse is the NATO four-pointed compass rose, symbolising orientation and collective direction, surrounded by a laurel wreath representing valour, merit and common effort.

The medal is suspended from a dark blue moiré ribbon, marked at the centre by a vertical white stripe. This ribbon reflects NATO’s official colours and gives the award a sober and highly recognisable appearance.

The large model is worn on the uniform during official ceremonies, military parades and commemorations.
