Military Medal 1st class

The ribbon of the Military Medal First Class is a discreet insignia worn on civilian attire, typically on the lapel of a jacket or suit. It serves as a representative substitute for the full-size medal, suitable for daily wear or formal occasions.

The ribbon bar is made of moiré ribbon in Belgium’s national colours red, yellow, and black, and is fitted with an inverted metallic chevron, making the First Class clearly identifiable. The ribbon is mounted on a metal base that slides through the buttonhole of the garment. A portion of the base is folded back on the reverse side, securing the ribbon firmly in place.
