Military Medal Courage and Dedication 1st class

This Dutch-language reduced version of the Military Medal for Courage and Dedication 1st Class is a smaller counterpart of the full-size decoration, designed for ease of wear during ceremonies and less formal occasions.

The medal features a gilt pattée cross with broadened arms, set against a background of radiant beams. At its center lies a round medallion bearing the Belgian coat of arms, showing the Belgian lion in relief, encircled by an inscription in Dutch.

Above the cross rests a gilt royal crown, symbol of official royal approval. The medal is suspended from a red moiré ribbon, bordered with narrow vertical stripes in black, yellow, and red. The 1st Class is distinguished by an inverted gilt chevron (V-shape) mounted on the ribbon.

This reduced model is both a practical wearing form and a valued collectible piece, complementing the full-size version.
