Officer Order of Leopold

This version of the Officer’s insignia of the Order of Leopold is the large silver model, as worn with full dress uniform. It is the official insignia awarded upon appointment to the rank of Knight in the Order of Leopold.

The insignia consists of a white-enamelled, four-armed cross, with in the centre on the obverse a gilt Belgian lion, surrounded by the inscriptions “Eendracht Maakt Macht / L’Union Fait La Force” and a green-enamelled laurel and oak wreath. On the reverse is the royal monogram “LR”. The gilt royal crown above the cross connects the whole to the distinctive purple moiré ribbon of the Order, adorned with a rosette affixed to the ribbon.
