Commemorative Medal Albert I

The large model of the Commemorative Medal Albert I is an official Belgian award created in memory of King Albert I, the “Soldier King” who led Belgium through the hardships of the First World War. This medal recognises loyalty, courage and dedication during his reign.

The medal is round, struck in bronze-coloured metal, and features on the obverse the profile of King Albert I with the inscription “ALBERTVS REX”.

The large model of the Commemorative Medal Albert I is worn on a yellow moiré ribbon with a narrow green central stripe, a distinctive colour pattern specific to this decoration.
