Civil Cross 1st class

The Belgian Civil Cross, First Class, is an honour awarded in recognition of notable civil merit. The large model in metal is crafted according to the official specifications and offers a faithful representation of the award.

The insignia consists of a gold-coloured Maltese cross with white enamelled arms. The central medallion bears the monogram “L” (Leopold II) in gold on a white background. Laurel leaves are placed between the arms of the cross. The decoration is suspended from a gold-coloured ornamental connector, linking the cross to the ribbon.

The decoration is attached to a moiré ribbon in red with black stripes, the traditional colours of the Belgian Civil Decorations. This large metal model combines solemnity with refined simplicity, highlighting the symbolic value of the distinction.
