Civil Cross 1st class

The miniature of the Belgian Civic Cross first class is a reduced-size version of the official decoration, intended for occasions where a more discreet form is appropriate. This prestigious version is crafted in solid fine silver (.999) and fully gilded, clearly distinguishing it from the standard metal models.

The insignia consists of a small Maltese cross with white enamelled arms. The central medallion bears the gilded monogram “L” (Leopold II) on a white background. Between the arms of the cross are gilded laurel leaves. The cross is suspended from a gilded ornamental connector linking it to the ribbon.

Although the visible finish is fully gilded, the miniature is entirely made of solid fine silver (.999). The decoration is attached to a moiré ribbon in red with black stripes, the traditional colours of the Belgian Civil Decorations.
