Civil Cross 1st class

This large model of the Belgian Civil Cross, First Class, is crafted in solid fine silver (.999) and entirely gilded, in accordance with the official specifications of the decoration. It is a prestigious version that stands out clearly from the standard metal models.

The insignia consists of a Maltese cross with white enamelled arms. The central medallion bears the monogram “L” (Leopold II) in gilded relief on a white background. Between the arms of the cross are gilded laurel leaves. The decoration is suspended from a gilded ornamental connector linking the cross to the ribbon.

Although the visible finish is entirely gilded, this large model is made entirely of solid fine silver (.999), giving it exceptional intrinsic value and making it a highly desirable collector’s piece. The decoration is attached to a moiré ribbon in red with black stripes, the traditional colours of the Belgian Civil Decorations.
