Medal of Labour 2nd class

The ribbon for the Belgian Labour Medal, Second Class, is a discreet and simplified form of the decoration, intended for daily or informal wear. It is worn on the collar or lapel of a jacket and serves as a recognizable mark of honour, without the need to wear the full medal.

The ribbon consists of a horizontal rectangular piece of moiré in the Belgian national colours (black, yellow and red), with the characteristic wavy structure that gives it a refined appearance.

The ribbon is mounted on a metal base. The entire piece is slid through the lapel buttonhole and secured at the back by folding a pliable part of the base around the fabric, ensuring a firm and discreet attachment.

Although small in size, the ribbon retains the symbolism and visibility of the official decoration. It is ideal for occasions where a formal distinction is appropriate, but where the full medal would be too prominent or too large.
